Dylan the Great

Dylan the Great is our first sire, and is DNA registered with the AKC. Above center is a picture of Dylan and Baily showing just how much they love each other. Dylan has a wonderful personality and is extremley friendly. He has grown up around cats and is very fond of them, and he's a dog that loves attention from people, but when it comes to being a watch dog, he's the best! No strangers can get close to the property without Dylan letting us know!

Dylan is a fawn male with a black muzzle. His size is 90 pounds, however the pups he produces - as seen on Baily's page - turn out to be the larger type pups. Dylan's father has one of the biggest bear heads we have ever seen and is somewhat stocky and thick and weighs in at over 100 pounds. Genetically, we believe this is a dominant trait that shows up in Dylan's offspring. This is one of his pups at 6 months. (yes - six months) Notice the size and the thickness of the head at such a young age!! This boy was solid black when he was born - he turned gray at 3 months then eventually a very light - near white - blond! This is one of the mysteries of the Aktia. The coat when they are pups sometimes makes drastic changes. This boy below is a stunning Akita. The Janpanese Aktia trait - the distinctive eyes - is evident in this pup .

Dylan is a very energetic male Akita - loving his running time on our 30 acres of woods. He too, like Bailey, loves to hunt, an instinct most Akitas are known for. This boy's personality and temperment is very evident in his offspring.
